Pet friendly Cotswold stone Cottage in Lower Mill Village

41 Mill Village is a traditionally styled, but contemporarily furnished and equipped, cotswold stone cottage situated in the prestigious Lower Mill Estate in the heart of the Cotswold Waterpark.

The pet friendly four bedroom accommodation is equally well suited for couples, families or groups of friends. Set in your very own 550 acre private nature reserve, the cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding lakes (all seven of them!) and woodland by foot, bike or boat.

Inside, the open plan living room centres around an oversized Inglenook fireplace with log burner. A large L shaped sofa and smaller two seater comfortably cater for eight guests to relax in style in the living room that includes a 40" 4K Smart television and Sonos music streaming system. The solid oak dining table seats eight and french doors lead to the oversized deck that looks over the start of the River Thames and again provides seating for eight al fresco dining guests. A downstairs bathroom, utility room and fully equipped kitchen complete the ground floor with free wifi provided throughout.

Upstairs the master bedroom, with king size oak sleigh bed bed, has far reaching views over neighbouring Mill Lake. A second en-suite room with walk in shower is again equipped with a luxurious king sized oak sleigh bed. The family bathroom has a mains fed shower over bath. Two further rooms (twin with roll-out and bunk beds) lie off the family bathroom.

Facilities

Mill Village is part of the Lower Mill Estate, your very own private nature reserve. There are seven lakes in the nature reserve that offer a variety of open water swimming, sailing, canoeing, paddle boarding and fishing opportunities. There are walking and cycling tracks aplenty along with an outdoor swimming pool for guests (open all year round, even in the winter for the braver bather!). 

Mill Village also benefits from a children's playground, tennis courts and a multi-sport all weather pitch. The on-site shop provides all day to day essential foods and starter log burner supplies for the fire. The recently opened restaurant provides a great selection of eat in or take away food and drink. Please note we do not currently offer guests access to the on-site Spa.

We have designed 41 Mill to mirror the best properties we have stayed in on our travels over the last 10+ years. As such we provide everything you need to get you started in the Cottage. No more worrying about whether you've packed to loo roll! As standard the following are provided (in starter quantities where relevant) for all guests:

- Bedding
- Towels (1 bath sheet, 1 smaller towel for each guest)
- Bath mats
- Loo roll
- Kitchen foil, clingfilm, bin liners, salt and pepper, olive oil, washing up liquid, scourer, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets

Changeover days

Wherever possible (outside peak times) we avoid same day changeovers. This gives guests the flexibility to arrive and leave as early or late as they would like on their respective arrival and departure days. It also make life a lot less stressful for our wonderful cleaner!

About us

The owners of 41 Mill Village live just up the road in Stroud. You will be renting directly from us, the owners, rather than through a third party agency.  Having bought our first holiday home down the road in 2014 we wanted a complementary cottage that offered additional activities for not only guests but our friends and family to enjoy.

We're keen watersports enthusiasts and have spent many an hour swimming, paddle boarding and wakeboarding in and around the local area. 

We provide all guests with a comprehensive guide to local activities, attractions, restaurants and pubs. James, who meets all our guests, will be available during your stay to answer any queries you may have about the cottage or local area.

We aim to provide a prompt response to booking queries and are available for the duration of your stay to answer any questions you may have or help resolve any issues that may occur.

Dogs

As long term pet owners, we know how challenging it can be to find pet friendly accommodation. Our old Spaniel really enjoys his time at Mill Village and we hope that if you are pet owners, your dog will enjoy the area as well!

We welcome guests to bring one well behaved dog for no additional charge. Please contact us if you would like to discuss bringing more than one dog with you.

Do I need a car?

Whilst only a 10 minute drive form Kemble train station (an hour and a half directly to Paddington) we would recommend having access to a car for your visit to Mill Village.

The cottage has one adjacent parking space (allocated) a ten metre walk from the front door. Additional parking is available on a first come first served basis in clearly marked shared parking areas.

Estate Ethos

Mill Village is a peaceful getaway from it all in the countryside. Long walks, bike rides, swimming and rest and relaxation are some of the key attractions for our guests be it couples, families or groups of friends looking to get away from it all. We are afraid we aren't able to welcome stag or hen parties or sports groups. Please contact us prior to booking if you're not a mixed group as we will require approval from the estate before accepting you to stay.
