The new log burner

You have two options when you buy, own and run a holiday home. "Do it up a bit" and then maximise your returns... or constantly ask guests for feedback and in tandem with your own experiences of staying decide where and what to invest in and upgrade over time. We've very much always been believers in the latter!

Mill Village is also a quiet bolthole for us to escape to as owners and we've actually just spent a few days here before the Easter holidays decompressing from our days jobs. What better time to write-up our most recent mini refurb project!

When we moved in the Inglenook fireplace was a great feature in the living room. Having owned the house for over a year though, it became apparent the log burner whilst a really striking centre piece was somewhat inefficient and took a lot of "oomph" to get going.

Having installed a modern efficient log burner at our previous holiday home from Contura , we decided it was time for out with the old and in with the new.

This time we opted for a Contura 310 supplied and fitted by local suppliers, Corinium Stoves ... and what a difference the new log burner makes! Awesome radiant heat, beautiful centrepiece and a far better option than electric. We're really happy with it and guest feedback has been great as well!
